A NEW SCHOOL IN THE KAROO

A place for your child.
A community for your family.

Ankerkaroo grew from parents’ desire for closer involvement in their children’s education. We want children to enjoy learning and approach it with independence and enthusiasm. Here in Graaff-Reinet, we are building an Afrikaans school with Christian foundations, small classes and the Ligpunt curriculum.

1 confirmed enrolment · First-year target: 15 learners.

OUR FOUNDATION

Strong roots. Room to grow.

Ankerkaroo is an independent private primary school and a satellite school of Vuurvliegie Akademie in Beaufort West. Four pillars guide our school.

Christian foundations

Faith forms the foundation of our school. We aim to create an environment where children can learn, ask questions and grow in confidence.

Afrikaans as the teaching language

Children learn in a familiar language in which they can express themselves. We aim to encourage understanding, independence and a love of learning.

Small classes

Classes of 12 to 15 learners per teacher allow room for personal attention. The grade groups are Grades 1–3 and Grades 4–7.

Ligpunt Leerplan

The Ligpunt curriculum, developed by Vuurvliegie Akademie, is our standard. Practical and creative classwork helps children participate with interest.

Ligpunt Leerplan
LEARN WITH UNDERSTANDING

Ligpunt, for your family.

We use the CAPS-based Ligpunt curriculum. The school’s approach emphasises innovation, logical thinking and closer parental involvement in children’s learning.

During your visit, ask about your child’s grade, the learning materials and how your family can support the week’s work at home.
